Hear Ye, Hear Ye! The Texas Renaissance Festival Comes to Town This Weekend
Since 1974, there has been a magical kingdom just at the edge of the Greater Houston area, where guests can step through the gates and enter an enchanted world filled with kings and queens, knights and nobles, fairies and elves, pirates and peasants, and other fanciful delights. This year, the King and Queen welcome you to the fair village of the Texas Renaissance Festival on Saturday, October 5th!
The Texas Renaissance Festival – the nation’s largest, most acclaimed renaissance theme park – returns for its 44th season this weekend. The magic of the Festival transports patrons to the 16th century, offering enchanting experiences featuring world-renowned live entertainment, works by master artists and craftspeople, award-winning food and drink, hand-powered rides and games, and over 100 interactive characters.
The Texas Renaissance Festival is a magical place for family fun and entertainment. Thrill to the charge of knights jousting on their mighty steeds. Fall under the spell of the fairy court. Laugh and be amazed at the clowns, jugglers, acrobats, and magicians performing on stages throughout the village or watch with excitement as birds of prey soar through the air.
The Festival boasts 55 acres of land, 200+ acres of camping facilities, over 350 on-site shops, and 25 different stages. The Texas Renaissance Festival has been in operation since 1974 and draws over 500,000 guests annually, making it the largest and most impressive Renaissance fair in the United States.
On October 5th and 6th, the theme of the festival will be Oktoberfest. Journey back in time to old Bavaria as the King and Queen open the Festival season with a celebration of the best of the wurst (and the bier)! Join in the fun by taking part in the Oktoberfest costume contest or the bratwurst eating contest.
Step back in time to the days of yore at the Texas Renaissance Festival! General admission starts at $23.95 for adults and $11.95 for children. Separate parking and camping passes are also available. Purchase tickets now at www.texrenfest.com.
